WORKSHOPS AND TABLE CLINICS

Workshops:
Our workshops are designed to provide in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in various areas of dentistry. Each workshop lasts 90 minutes. Participants can select one workshop per time slot, ensuring they can focus fully on the topic at hand.

Table Clinic 30:
In the “Table Clinic 30” sessions, participants will rotate between three different tables within a single time slot. Each table session lasts for 30 minutes, allowing participants to gain insights and practical knowledge from multiple experts in a short period.

Table Clinic 45:
In the “Table Clinic 45” sessions, participants will rotate between two different tables within a single time slot. Each table session lasts for 45 minutes, providing a more detailed exploration of the topics presented by the experts.

These structured formats are designed to maximize learning and engagement, ensuring that participants can benefit from a variety of perspectives and expertise in a concise timeframe.

So in EACH time slot you can choose what you want to attend:

- - a Workshop (Participants will be able to attend 1 workshop in a time slot) OR
  - Table Clinics 30 (Participants will rotate between the 3 table clinics within a time slot) OR
  - Table Clinics 45 (participants will rotate between 2 table clinics in one time slot)

GBR for Horizontal ridge augmentations – Sausage Technique^TM

GBR for horizontal augmentations has been widely described and numerous studies have shown reproducible results with implant success rates comparable to those obtained in native bone. When the width of the ridge is less than 4mm at the top, a staged approach is often indicated.

Guided bone regeneration techniques using resorbable membranes with staged approaches often fall short of the recommended peri-implant bone volume criteria.

The Sausage TechniqueÔ (Urban 2011 2013), is one of the least invasive scientifically documented technique for horizontal bone augmentation. Moreover, this technique provides most horizontal bone gain than classical GBR techniques (Arnal 2022). This technique will be described step by step with a video support during the workshop.

Zero Peri-Implantitis – a new concept in Implant Dentistry // Fabrice BAUDOT

Dr. Fabrice Baudot (Saint Gély du Fesc, France)

According to the latest consensus workshop of the EFP and AAP, peri-implantitis is highly prevalent, affecting 22% of dental implants. Its management is challenging, unpredictable, and associated with significant morbidity due to the lack of long-term successful treatment options. Against this background, prioritizing the prevention of peri-implantitis through novel concepts and technologies is logical. Long-term studies conducted at the universities of Düsseldorf and Graz suggest that the Patent™ Dental Implant System offers the most promising solution. These independent investigations revealed no peri-implantitis around two-piece Patent™ Implants after 9 to 12 years, even among patients with compromised health, demonstrating that implant dentistry without peri-implantitis is an achievable reality in daily practice.

Dr. Fabrice Baudot, a founding member of the European Academy of Ceramic Implantology and a distinguished specialist in minimally invasive periodontology and implantology based in Saint-Gély-du-Fesc, France, will explain why the Patent™ System achieves such remarkable biological success. The Patent™ System eliminates subgingival microgaps found in most conventional implant systems, which are prone to the penetration of bacteria. Additionally, the Patent™ Implant promotes unique and robust soft-tissue adhesion to its transmucosal surface, forming an effective defense barrier — a “biological firewall” — that prevents the downward migration of plaque and bacteria towards the deeper tissue.

Mastering implantology: a beginner's guide to confidence and success // Abid FAQIR

Dr. Abid Faqir graduated from the Glasgow Dental School before undertaking his Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in Edinburgh and a Masters Degree at Glasgow University. He has further gained a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Edinburgh. He has had extensive training both in the UK and overseas in the field of implantology.
Abid limits his practice to the treatment and management of complex cases, including digital planning. He is particularly interested in immediate loading and soft tissue grafting and regularly lectures nationally and internationally.

Abid is currently the President of the Association of Dental Implantology UK. He has also been appointed in the past to the editorial board for the publication Implant Dentistry and as a committee member of the British Society of Oral Implantology.

This beginner’s hands-on course focuses on providing essential solutions and practical skills for newcomers in implantology.

Participants will learn the theoretical foundations from Dr. Abid Faqir, an experienced implantologist, and engage in hands-on practice with freehand surgical implant placement. The practical exercise includes using both Straumann® BLX, a bone-level implant, and Straumann® TLX, a tissue-level implant, along with temporization. The event also features a Q&A session to address any queries.

No Implantology without Periodontology – this should be standard without saying for all oral health professionals to achieve optimal implant restorations! Yet, we still meet many patients, where this concept was unfortunately not considered. Kristina Bertl will talk in this table clinic about the treatment phase prior to the actual implant installation as well as about what can be done to prevent peri-implant biological complications later on, including the set-up of a regular supportive implant care session. In addition, by using specific dental models different treatment methods like air-polishing and piezo-scaler can be tested and compared!

Guided Bone Regeneration has become a widely used technique and may be mandatory prior to implant placement.
This table clinic will prepare the participants with the theoretical backround and surgical skills to perform a predictable GBR. Hands-on exercises on a dental model will include membrane fixation with corresponding pins. Furthermore, important steps as soft tissue management, appropriate flap design, tension-free flap closure and suture techniques will be discussed to achieve predictable results.
